Los Suenos Fishing Charters
Audra and Mike Brase and family had a wonderful time fishing with Captain Tom on the Estrella Del Mar. Audra is a sport fish biologist from Alaska. They had a fantastic day with a total of one blue marlin and 6 sails raised , one sail brought alongside and 3 100+ pound sailfish boated. The Ed Woheling group released 4 sails, a 300 lb blue marlin and 2 dorado. The Shawn Mawery anglers with 2 1/2 day inshore inshore charters caught 2 roosters each day and a giant barracuda one day.
Winter Report
It is starting to heat up for Blue Marlin. Captain Tom on the Estrella de Mar and anglers Dave and Wayne Winters from Louisiana raised 10 blue marlin weighing 100 to 400 lbs.They caught and released 4 and 4 jumped the hook and 1 broke the line. It was an exciting day for these anglers and one anglers first time catching a marlin.
Costa Rica Fishing Report
It has been raining for the last two weeks and
the fishing offshore has not been good. However, the Inshore
fishing has been great and Captain Tom reports that California
native Tim Salmon and New Jersey native Dennis Dunn had
a great day catching and releasing a half dozen roosterfish
ranging from 25 lbs to 55 lbs. Captain Tom says they are
probably in for another2 weeks of rain.

Los Suenos Marina Fishing
The waters have cleared and the fishing is good.
Jim Clarke and his friends from Pittsburg caught 8
yellowfin tuna , the largest being 150 lbs. Thats what they
were after and that what they got. Also 2 sails.
Captain Tom and Terry Smith caught and released 7 sails
and one blue marlin about 250lbs.

Great Costa Rican Rooster Fishing
The Kyle Richards party of 2 had great fun on the
Estrella de Mar, inshore fishing. They caught 4 roosters
between 25 and 40 lbs. These were caught with live bait,
blue runners. There is a lot of live bait at this time.
Also, they
caught 6 jacks and some needle fish.
Offshore
Fishing off of Carrillo is great for marlin.
One captain reported he released 14 blues.

Easter Week
The charter boats out of Los Suenos Marina have seen
a lot of action this past week. Captain Tom reported that
one boat got a grand slam. Most boats are reporting up
to
twelve sailfish releases and there seem to be a more marlin
around at this time.
The
action is good off of Cabo Blanco. The water is clean
and there is a lot of bait fish.

March Night Fishing with Captain Tom
Captain Tom and Terry and Margret Smith from the UK
caught approximately 70 snappers on the night of the 22
of March. They were Colorado and Corbera snappers.
The largest weighing in at 38 lbs. Most were caught on
Shimano butterfly jigs and the large one was caught with
a 3 lb. snapper.Captain
Jerry and the Mereidth Berry
party caught and released 5 sailfish and a 250lb blue marlin.
They also caught a 20 lb dorado

March Fishing Report ~ Los Suenos,
Costa Rica
So far March is looking real good. The anglers from
Las Vegas , Richard Rohr and Bruce Gwin had a good day yesterday
with 3 sailfish and a 40 lb. Dorado.Captain
Tom
and Mr. and Mrs Terri Smith reported 8 sailfish and a
blue marlin on the 4th of March.
The Louis Casale group of 3 anglers averaged 3 sails a
day.

February 14 Fishing Report
We only fished a 1/2 day on the 14. We took Steve Hooden's
group out 12 miles and found blue water and on the 13
mile
we hooked the first sailfish of our 1/2 day. We caught
and released 3 more sailfish and also a nice dorado.The
"bite" is definitely improving, boats that fished
yesterday reported up to 35bites.

February 11 &12 Fishing Report
Keith Shey and his party of 4 fished the last 2 days and
caught and released 3 sailfish and caught 3 dorado. On
Tuesday caught and released 4 sails and caught a big dorado.
They are fishing on Thursday and Friday, we will report
on
that and hopefully the bite is on!!

Big Bite Expect This Week
This week we are expecting a "big bite" because
the moon is turning to a new moon. This will give a lot
more tidal surge and that is what makes the fish bite.

FISHING REPORT FEB. 11 2007
The billfish are picking up at this time. Boats are reporting
5 to 7 sailfish a day. Terry and Mike Smith from the United
Kingdom did some night fishing and caught 6 corbera snapper,
weighing between 20-35 lbs: 6 red snapper 3-5 lbs and
25
mullet snapper running 11 to 25 lbs.Captain Jerry reported
that Jason and Diane Shay brought in 4 billfish today
on the Estrella de Mar.

January 15th Fishing Report
The offshore fishing from Los Suenos Marina has been fair
to good. A lot of big dorado are being caught; anywhere
from
40 to 60 lbs. Sailfishing is starting to get good, also.
We are raising from 10 to 20 a day and releasing 5 to
15. The marlin
bite is getting better, we are raising a couple of marlin
everyday, blue,black and striped, ranging from 80 to 600
lbs. Also, a few nice yellow fin tuna in the 200lb. range.
